AUSTRIA

There are very few industrial narrow gauge systems still operating in Austria. The last few systems associated with mining closed down several years ago, and a single brickworks railway although operational, is not in daily use now.

Even the 760mm gauge common carrier systems previously operated by The ÖBB, and the Steiermärkische Landesbahnen have all but ceased the transport of freight.
