On the 20th August 2001, Declan McLaughlin visited the Clonmacnoise and West Offaly Railway. This is the visitor railway based on the blackwater system of Bord na Mona. The starting point is by the railway workshops for the system. Blackwater had a total of 10 converted agricultural tractors at one time. Some of these are still in use.

A further tractor (F348) was found in a short line up of locos. The other two locos are examples of the Gleismac LF45 locos built in 1984.

LM373 is another one of the batch of 20 Gleismac locos built by Dundalk Engineering.

A variety of rolling stock can be found on the Bord na Mona railways.

An example of a bogie flat wagon.

Another Massey Ferguson tractor. Power to the rear wheels is via a chain drive from the back axle.

Another picture of the same line up of locos, this time with a Deutz in view from the 1965 batch.
