Some pictures from Mike Jackson from a visit in May 2002. This 600mm gauge line is about 5km in length.
The railway connects an inclined drift to the main washery. The mine itself is near Tuzla, and the narrow gauge loading point is at Haljinici.
The locos in use are Italian built Valente diesels. There were 2 in the loco shed and one in use.
The line had been worked as an overhead electric line until the last few years. The eletric locos are still present. They were built by Siemens.
A line up of a least for locos. It was suggested that there may be put back into use if the overhead wire is reintroduced.
Manual sanding is necessary on some parts of the line to assist the loco.
